I have pressed and sintered a hydroxyapatite powder and I need the pellet surface highly polished for my application but I had some trouble to polish it due to it's soft surface and it's granular structure so when I put it on the abrasive paper it's starting to fragmented.

Use higher grade abrasive paper (1000-1500 for exemple) and then when polishing with specific polishing apparatus use diamond paste.
