Dear Nilesh Junghare thank you for your interesting question. This is certainly difficult to judge from the outside, and I think it's always advisable to discuss this with your supervisor.

My first question would be: Did you follow a literature procedure or is this a new reaction? What I can say right now is that ethanol is a suitable solvent for reactions of cobalt(II) chloride with Schiff base ligands. Normally the reactions take place at reflux temperature, i.e. complex formation does not necessarily take place at room temperature (although this of course depends on the nature of the ligand). I would stir the reaction mixture at reflux temperature for a few hours. There is normally no need to add any further reagents. Here is a typical procedure which should work in your case:

A solution of CoCl2·6H2O (01.0 mmol) in ethanol (5 ml) is slowly added to the Schiff base ligand (1.0 mmol) solution in ethanol (10 ml) under constant stirring and refluxed for 5 h. The reaction is monitored by a color change and formation of a precipitate. The obtained precipitate is isolated by filtration, washed with ethanol and diethyl ether to remove unreacted ligand. The product is dried in a vacuum oven at 60 °C for 5 h.
