Your question is not clear: 'pixels' of image sensors or of displays ? This is quite a difference.

Regarding image sensors: check for manufacturers of such sensors. (I had a short visit at ON Semiconductors, coming up with a smallest pixel size of 1.1 x 1.1 µm. But this is only ON Semi.)

Regarding displays, you may want to check display manufacturers like Panasonic or LG (just to mention 2.) This technology is completely different from image sensors.

This is a very interesting question with many possible answers.

In addition to the incisive answers already given, there is a bit more to consider. It is common for display pixels in a raster image to be represented by tiny squares. Each tiny square would consists of the intersection of mulitple horizonal and vertical rasters in the old technology. In the newer light emitting diode (LED) techology for image displays on advance monitors such as those manufactured by HP, each tiny square representing a pixel (picture element), is eluminated by multiple LEDs.

More to the point, the minumum tiny square representing a pixel is 1 LED.

Prof. Peters reminded me of this question - triggering some recollection..

Regarding the smalles display pixel geometry you may want to check for Apple's "retina display" and alike, that demonstrate pixel densities up to 400 ppi (iPhone 6+).

Though this seems to be impressive, some "special displays" will most likely exceed such pixel densities. Though I could not find numbers, I am quite sure that VR goggles (Oculus Rift, Samsung Gear VR and alike) will easily exceed these values - as they are intended to be used with a magnifying lens.
