Let's consider a 2D structure with transnational invariance in x and y directions illuminated with a circularly polarized light along z. If the structure is chiral, it will show handedness-dependent absorption (and transmission too). I wonder, does it hold true for non-chiral systems?

Absorption is certainly linked to chirality and will be insensitive to handedness. But what about transmission? In particular, for a structure lacking the mirror symmetry in the xy plane, as well as the rotational z-symmetry of any order n>1? For example, an array of Г-shaped particles. Should the transmission through this system be handedness-independent? My numerical test don't give a definitive answer so far.
