Hi I am doing an undergraduate qualitative literature review for adult nursing. I have an article that I would like to use, however i'm unsure if its qualitative or quantitative research?
It uses P value which is usually indicative of a quantitative method.
The method is structured face-to-face interviews. On the back page of the article however it mentions semi-structured interviews, which would be qualitative.
Another literature review classed the article as qualitative research:

Dear James,
The primary study you have mentioned is a quantitative study. Although it says it used interview, it appears that the use of structured interview could mean that they gave the questionnaires or instrument to the participants physically and one after the other. Other features like the data collection instrument and especially the data analysis section points to the fact that it is purely a quantitative study.
One good way to find out what they truly mean is to write the corresponding author to find out. Hopefully, you can get a response in time for your paper.

If the data analysis included use of P values then it isn't a qualitative study
The article is quantitative research but in any quantitative research, you can some qualitative methods in data collecting or other parts.

The primary research article you mentioned here is a quantitative study but still you can also do a qualitative study along with this, which is called as mixed method research. You may include a few of the samples from the quantitative study

It can be quantitative or mixed study. For quantitative part; you can use structured questionnaire using validated tool to assess knowledge and for attitude using a checklist if any. for qualitative part using open ended questionnaire via in-depth or focused group interview to explore barriers to knowledge and attitude. you can mixed it, but your paper is purely quantitative if there is P--value.
