I would like to ask you your opinion about the fish which was found in a certain territory. This species has never been recorded in the area before, that is why it is important for me to identify it. We only have a picture. No specimen.

I identified it as Nile tilapia Oreochromis niloticus (Linnaeus, 1758) according to the number of scales from lateral lines which were 33 and the most distinguishable character for O. niloticus, presence of vertical stripes on the caudal fin.

I would appreciate if fish experts confirm my findings.
