Yes, the identification is correct, Shortsnout boxfish, Ostracion rhinorhynchos Bleeker 1851 (family OSTRACIIDAE).

The species has been reported from Sri Lanka east to Palau, north to southern Japan, south to northern Australia; it apparently represents a new record for the southwest coast of India. It is known from sand-rubble areas near reefs, 2-35 m depth.
