Riverbank erosion is the major issues especially major rivers in the south-Asia. Different methods were taken to reduce the loss due to it. However, small rivers also causing problem which could be refer to the major rivers in Europe. It would be nice to know if you can share your experience so that I may get information to deal with the rivers having similar characteristics.

I would say that in the UK, river bank erosion is a fairly minor problem.
There are plenty of instances of excessive local bank erosion in streams and small rivers. These are usually caused by poaching (domesticated animals trampling). Some farmers are fencing these riparian zones to exclude animals and stabilise banks. For bank stabilisation methods, check out the River Restoration Centre.
As I understand it, many European rivers have been modified for so long (by drainage modifications and river engineering) that their channel profiles have already gone through a period of bed and bank erosion. (Cluer and Thorne, 2013).
A specialised hydrogeomorphologist would be able to give a more complete answer.

Normally Gabians are used for river bank protection. Instead, it is possible to use Bio Engineering Technologies using Riverine Trees to protect River Banks

Actually, CEGIS is predicting riverbank erosion one-year ahead since 2004 in the major rivers (Jamuna, Ganges and Padma) in Bangladesh. Mainly time series dry season satellite images since 1973 were used to develop the tools. Separate tools were developed for each individual river. I have attached herewith the summary report of the year 2019 so that you can have a taste on it.
The reservations, along natural streams, could be upgraded as cycle tracks or walking paths for the local communities. It is also important to note that stream banks and associated wetlands in the flood plains of those streams represent aquatic-terrestrial interfaces of the eco-system having the highest bio-diversity and fertile soil. Therefore, as a parallel activity, those areas could be used to grow high-value crops, having medicinal and fruit values. The newly-introduced tracks would play the role of nature trails providing access to those fertile areas. Therefore, this intervention would also generate income for local communities by promoting them to grow high-value crops and trees along stream banks.
Those tree belts would also play the role of bio-corridors interconnecting isolated forest patches in urban areas enhancing the urban bio-diversity. In selecting the stream banks to transform them into cycle tracks, the ecotourism potential of the area could also be used as a criterion.
