There is an enormous amount of research about conflicts and polarisation, like the Allport contact hypothesis and also the genocide literature of Abram de Swaan. What lacks to my opinion is research about how to end a conflict effectively. Possible parties who might intervene are victims, offenders and bystanders. Much of the work I know about ending conflicts like colonisation, suppressing people by means of racism etc. is based on Martin Luther King, the Dalai Lama, Nelson Mandela and Mahatma Gandhi.
Indeed there it's not much, that's because common western aproach to conflict takes it as a phenomenon, thus as a matter of science, thus as something that just happens.
You name some of the actually known writters that take a different aproach, however the subject of how to resolve conflicts is found in Machiavelli's "Prince", Plato's "Republic", Aristotelés "Ethic", Sun Tzu's "Art of War", even , despite requiring heavy interpretation, on Saint Aquinas "Summa contra Gentiles" and Saint Augustine "Confessions"
Thus, i would believe the subject has been worked more than enough to develop further research

Dear RG friends, I am very concerned about this subject. Especially now in this COVID-19 time. By the way, research teaches us that female leaders (prime ministers) are doing much better than male leaders in this COVID-19 time. Fewer people getting infected and fewer people dying. An intervention could be to turn off all those male leaders through democratic processes. But that is rather drastic. I believe that we should continue to look for conflict resolution. I do know, however, that countries and therefore also their leaders - almost always men - initiate wars themselves. Even in this COVID time, the United States of America does that in Somalia. Why? They're not the police officer of the world. We didn't ask them that. What are they interfering with? I'm very concerned about all war victims, women, mothers and daughters, fathers and sons, grandparents, uncles and aunts, and so on. We don't want that. Life is precious. Restrict arms sales.
