there are three main families of pollinating birds : Trochilideae (humming-birds) in Americas, Nectarinideae (sunbirds) in tropical Africa and Asia, and Honey-eaters (Meliphagideae) in Australia. Sunbirds are known to pollinate orchids e.g. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2803388/
Sunbirds are considerably heavier than most hummingbirds, so they need more robust flowers and larger nectar rewards, as well as convenient perches. They mostly visit trees and shrubs in Asia, and some robust-flowered herbs like Zingiberaceae. Honeyeaters, which have spread west as far as Bali and Sulawesi, are mostly even bigger and are usually seen visiting trees.
