I have gone through few papers regarding carbon shell on metals/metal oxides etc. In most of the papers authors have used glucose as a source for carbon and following the hydrothermal synthesis. Finally obtained materials were calcined under either air or inert gas to obtain a hollow shell. If metal oxide decomposes about 300 oC then I am unable to follow this process. In this case, is there any alternative process to make hollow carbon shell on metal oxide cores?
