I am doing a project using Unitrol 1020 AVR and a RTDS.

The data sheet says it requires a either AC (3φ: 9 to 300 Vac or 1φ: 16 to 300 Vac) or DC (18 to 420 VDC) auxiliary power supply. My understanding is that this is auxiliary power is required for powering the excitation system and the IGBT circuit.

Is my understanding right ?
