I'm doing an interaction test between erythrocytes of mice and free merozoites of Plasmodium chabaudi. Is there any way to quantify merozoites other than by flow cytometry? I have been trying in the Neubauer chamber, until now without success. I also tried cytospin technique and giemsa, however the counting became a challenge because merozoite measured about 1μm. I thought about immunofluorescence but I'm having a hard time getting a primary antibody.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
