It may be a criticism of soil science and plant physiology but the answer is no. 

Attempts were made to define minimum concentrations for uptake in flowing solutions, but these petered out largely because it was realised that the results were affected by  kinetic phenomena in the diffusion zone.  Electrophysiology has only recently stepped into that gap. 

The other complications include root extension, rhizosphere processes and the role of mycorrhizae.

You can get some information from soil -plant-water relationships and read basic book or articles about absorption of nutrients near root  and very related to root volume , root  length  and type of roots but there is no way for direct predict.

You can use the TDS of the soil solution.

 Soil water is not so well defined as soil solution from plant nutrition point of view.Earlier there have been good number of papers relating solution nutrient concentration (especially of P) and plant nutrient concentration.We have terms like the external(soil solution) and internal (plant tissue) P requirement of crops and their critical limits or optimum concentration ranges.. If irrigation water (especially ground water)  contains high concentrations of nutients like K,S (boron as mentioned by Dr.Schnug) etc., they may reflect in plant nutrient composition or nutrient uptake by crop.

What i dislike in RG is: there is seldom a crisp and clear answer to what a colleague asks: for what good are all the chatter about things which do not really target an question?

Dr.Schnug,great example to qualify our type of discussion in researchgate.First we have a forum which encourages more discussion by participants.For some questions we have answers running in to hundreds.We have participants from diverse disciplines and specializations.Every one is encouraged and  one will approach the problem from one's domain angle.Some questions  are too general and some are too specific.In both cases we try to express our views with extrapolation of ideas.Some extrapolations are with some basic understanding of subject and some are without it.One many answer with some preparation and another may simply speculate(whatever comes to mind.Any way your suggestion with good example is in right direction and one should emulate/follow it(if one agrees).

The abosorción of the nutrients by the plants depends on some factors as you are aware of it, among these are the soil texture, the taxonomic order of the soil, pH, the electrical conductivity, the soil moisture content, the species Ionic properties available in soil solution with their synergisms and antagonisms, phenology and crop demand, source, dose, form and time of application of fertilizer sources, among other factors that can be added. As you can see, it is very complex, but studies are being done that can clarify the biogeochemical dynamics of absorption of nutrients such as absorption curves and ionic species marked with stable non-radioactive isotopes, but much research is needed to create a statistical model that Can be of general use by the complexity that this has. What I would argue is that it can conduct research using response curves of these factors with multivariate models as an analysis of canonical correlations to observe more deeply the degree of participation and contribution of the groups of variables under study according to the criteria that you Consider you can lead to clarify this complex dynamics, to arrive at an approximate model; At least located where you are applying it. Hoping that this small contribution will serve you and can clarify a little your concern.

 I could trace a paper which connects the variation in soil moisture,concentration of minerals in soil solution and mineral uptake by plants.This reference and references at the end of the paper may  clarify your thinking.

I agree with what Dr. Schnug sir said. It sometimes irritates. But yes as Rao Sir said, everybody approaches same thing in their own way.

It reminds me of an interview of Richard Feynman who says 'everybody have their own way of looking at things.' Probably the reason why no. of inventors:population ratio is low.

There are questions for which we don't have exact answers. All inputs which are related to the same may prove useful for someone to get near to the crisp and clear answer.
