There is a ITE trip generation manual for developed countries like the US, in which trip rates are given based on land use. Is the same applicable for developing countries? or any reference?
It may not be a perfect fit, but it would be a good start. The key is using consistent numbers for a given land use, as trip generation is a forecast of the potential impact of a development. Since all locales are different in terms of actual generation rates, it would be prudent to collect some data and create your own local trip generation equations.
There is no such manual available in India. But, we need some initiation in this direction. If you are interested let me know, we shall take some action steps ahead in this direction.
As far as I know there is no manual like that for the developing countries. What I can suggest to you is to follow methodology from US manual but conduct your own local research to get some fundamental data you can compare and relate to US data.
