I would like to know if there is someone who has tested a protocol for protein extraction from algae. The purpose is to get an algal protein powder that can be used in food industry.

I will try your protein method for quantification, but first I wanna know if possible
- the composition of #25 mL lysis buffer
- SDS solution are you using 2% or 4%?
- what do you mean by #5 mL of reagent-C
But so far which is really interesting is your high content in protein. This is exactly what am loooking for from my microalgae but didn't get there yet.
Open www.algaebiomass.org and look in AIM 6.0/Resources. Protein in microalgae cells is covered, in fact methods for ALL algal constituents are covered.
