Is there any suggestion to improve effectiveness of active survey for small lizard in heavily shrubed area or at forest floor with many leaf-litter. It felt less effective when i was trying to do active sampling for small lizard in heavily shrubed forest floor or in forest floor with many leaf-litter. I will appreciate your helps and answers.

Yes, I think visual is hard. Its probably better to sample :)
I had to do sampling for bird densities because visualusation was too hard in forests :)
Base on your answer i concluded that trap is still most effective method option for small lizard. Thanks for the answer and the references.
