Is there any relation between between the KH instability and the dark current in semiconductor devices?

Since two layers of moving matter can experience the Kelvin Helmoltz instability due to different velocity of the one respect with the other at the interface, I was wondering about the existence of a relation between the built up vortex and the dark current mesured through a semiconductor device.
