Thevenin’s theorem has wide applications in electrical engineering. In classical text books on circuit theory the proofs for this theorem use lots of verbose. Is there any algebraic proof available that is based on circuit equations related to Kirchoff’s laws?

Thank you for your answer. I could not get the book. However, I could get the portion of 3.1 on internet. It states the basic feature of the theorem but does not give any proof. A fairly elaborate proof is available in Electrical Engineering Circuit by Skilling but as I said it contains too much verbose. I was thinking if a proof using node equation technique could be achieved. I am enclosing one such could you please comment on this
I like the proof presented in the book of Franklin Kuo, Network analysis and systhesis, ch 7. The author uses the compensation theorem and suporposition principle. The result is a very conceptual and elegant proof.

Dear Benjamin,
Your write-up does not contain a statement of Thevenin's theorem. Therefore it is not at all clear why Vx should be equal to Vth. Moreover Your proof does not include general circuit configurations, more than one independent voltage source, current sources controlled sources and RLC components.
