I like to study the barotolerance of few bacterial strains by applying high pressure. In the Bioreactor pneumatic pressure is applied. Can anyone suggest me high pressure resistive materials to inoculate cultures and incubate in the reactor? Similar studies has used sterile plastic bags, hungate tubes, blood pouches were they have applied hydraulic pressure. The material should withstand high pneumatic pressure.
I don't see the need for the material to be pressure resistive. As long as you can safely apply pressure to the material. A blood pouch for instance could have ten thousand times atmospheric pressure applied to it and it would not rupture because after being compressed very slightly the internal pressure would balance the applied pressure. If you can inoculate before applying the pressure I can't see a problem.
If you are using a bio-reactor made with stainless steal, you don't need any special device. The steal fermentor can withstand 1 to 2 bar pressure. For inoculation, you can inoculate the culture first using peristaltic pumps and pressurize the fermentor.
stainless steel reactor has been used tolerating up to 5Mpa pressure. It is used in coal bed methane study but might be useful in your study too.

Thank you all for your valuable inputs..The pressure applied would be minimum 40bar .though stainless steel could withstand till 5Mpa, I have to inoculate multiple samples at one go and it should not get cross contaminated. In my question i meant the durability of the material when subjected to high pressure As Moffatt suggested Il try blood pouches as it seems to serve the purpose.Hope it works.
It should do! Note the deepest living fish recorded were found in the Mariana trench at a depth of 26,722 feet. At that depth the pressure is 11890 psi (820 bar). No pressure suit is needed for a soft body!

I have used saline pouches similar to blood bag for inoculation and the pouches were tested till 50 bar pressure. There is no leakage and cross contamination..hope it could be tested at more pressure condition. Thanks everyone.
