I'm looking for articles, books or book chapters on the experience of participants in a qualitative research. I've only found research on the participation to clinical trials so far.
In particular, I'm interested in reflections on participants' reactions when being interviewed and/or situations when interviewees ask questions to the interviewer (e.g., "I've never asked myself this question", "This question is hard to answer, do you ask it to everyone you interview ?" etc.)

Another couple of scholars that have written extensively the process of interviewing, including how interviewees talk back or interact, include Kathy Roulston and Carolyn Ellis.
