(ahv)^(1/n) versus photon energy (hv).
where a: is the optical absorption coefficient, which can be calculated from absorbance(A), and thickness of the sample(t) using: (a=2.303A/t).
Reason for my question: If you do not have a value for thickness, you can not use (a=2.303A/t). It means you can not use (ahv)^(1/n) versus photon energy (hv).

According to the available literature, to calculate absorption coefficient by Tauc formula you are obligated to use thickness.

I think there are some other options to derive Tauc plot without using thickness of the sample. Because for powder sample you don't have thickness for that Tauc's plot were derived. So check nanoparticles uv
