Currently, I am working with a system that is basically assemblies of alternating solid and porous polymeric layers (figure is attached). I am interested to study the thermal conductivity of such system.
How can I calculate the thermal conductivity of such system?
What instrumental technique would be useful to measure the heat conduction?
By the way, the is made of polyolefins.

To model the thermal conductivity and if you have an idea about the thermal conductivit of each componenet than you can use one of the 4 models cited here by:
-Parallel model
-series model
-Maxwell model (most efficient)
and - Krischer model

If your aim is rather to measure it experimentaly, you can use a hot wire instrument.
