I am looking for a technique or device that can transform a random-direction light collected from a scattering medium and convert into a beam with single propagation direction. Is this process possible at all for a passive device since it seems to reduce entropy? It is intuitive to think of a slit as a first answer, but it just 'selects' a coherent fraction light and block the rest, which is inherent. So high loss can be expected. I would rather ask for a method that 'converts' nearly all incoherent light into coherent one, If there is any.
