It may or may not give ductility, strength, equal to the conventional concrete. What may be its cost?

Additionally, its drying shrinkage probably higher than OPC, hence shrinkage-induced crack resistance would be less than OPC. Part of my research is going on in the silica fume and slag.
It is true that various names can be found (like timber ash, sidoarjo mud, Ceramic Waste, Grits, etc) which are used as partial replacement of cement in various researches. In general it is seen that the compressive strength of concrete (or mortar) decreases as the content of above mentioned names increases. Isn't there any material which can be used as 100% replacement of cement (ensuring the desired level of strength in both structural and non-structural concrete)????
Usually flyash is used as an alternative to cement. The fineness properties are better but gives lesser strength if cement is replaces fully. Experiments on partial replacement of cement with flyash has shown that strength increases/retains upto 20-30% replacement, after that strength decreases. But with use of flyash, lot of other properties are enhanced.
In geopolymer concrete, research on replacement of cement with flyash + NaOH has been going on. For more info, you can check on google
Hydraulic binders made of ground natural zeolites (e.g. clinoptilolite) or other pozzolans (such as vitreous volcanic ashes) and Ca(OH)2 are an alternative for some applications. Costs depend largely on transport of the material, from a zeolite/ash occurrence to the place where you actually need it.
