A work is doing to determine the spatial repartition of heat convective coefficients on a heated fin cooled with a transverse air flow.

A heat flux is imposed to reach approximately 80°C on average and the temperature field on the fin is measured using infrared thermography. Using an inverse heat conduction method, this allows getting the convective heat coefficients from the temperature differences on the surface.

Recording the heat radiation of the fin with a 150Hz frequency, we can observe a behavior on the temperature variation similar to air flow across a cylinder.

is it possible to determine the air flow characteristics using the Infrared information?
