The devices that I will be building need power sources which are non-conventional and should have miniaturized sizing to enable fitting to a number of devices.
Some examples of energy sources that I am keen to consider are:
Solar, sound (voice), vibration, heat, oscillation (wind), etc.

look for thermo-electric generators (TEGs). They can provide power for mobile phones or the like. There are cooking systems with TEGs on the market, usually as outdoor (camping) equipment, sometimes based on different fuels (see e.g. http://www.biolitestove.com/products/campstove/ ).

Yes, some thing that will be a combination of multiple sources and yet miniaturized;
size will be a big constraint; alternatively, I would be happy to see of any source where the current research is on finding the non-conventional & renewable energy for conversion to Electricity;

Maybe you've already done this, but you might do a web search for "energy scavenging" or "energy harvesting" technologies.
The concept has been around for a while, but only recently has involved micro or nano scales. Lots of work at this scale recently at MIT and Berkeley, and probably elsewhere.
The basic concepts is to scavenge energy from the surrounding environment: heat, solar, static electricity, motion, etc.

Just to take your response forward, is there any device / models available that will have dynamic power sourcing but compact (using multiple sources like solar, motion, heat etc.,) with some amount of intelligence built to find a source reliability / quality of the source before switching back& forth the power source.
Desperation is to have the "Always ON" status on the new device;

Not my area of expertise, so I can't give you a proper answer. A quick web search didn't turn anything up on your specific requirements. You might contact researchers doing this work, since they will have a finger on the industry pulse. Seems there are many schools engaged in this industry now.
