looking for a good replacement as positive control in cancer research
Hi - Carboplatin is an appropriate replacement for cisplatin in some platin-based protocols.
There is also Oxaliplatin. It has less ototoxicity and nephrotoxicity than cisplatin and carboplatin.
What is your model and why do you want to replace cisplatin? Are you looking for a complete replacement of platin in your protocol?
As per i know cisplatin is highly toxic but, highly effective in total cellular apoptosis of malignant cell line but only disadvantage is that the viability of the good cells also reduces like fibroblastic cell line.
And i see eye to eye with Dominik about using oxaliplatin.
I can recommend you better if you can tell in which application you want to use and what is your reason for wanting to change cisplatin
