I want to predict the power production of a wind turbine based on the weather of turbine place with an algorithm. Is there any standard or valid dataset for this application?
Usually, the estimation of the annual energy production is site specific so there is no benchmark standard. You can look at the IEC 61400 series standard for wind turbine design. There is one dealing with aero calculations. Usually, one goes on with the blade element momentum (BEM) theory for each wind speed bin to make a power curve though.
Otherwise some meteorological offices offer wind maps with the suitable statistical information to go on with coarse calculations for a specific place.
