Use this formula to find the main radius of SRR since you have the operating frequency (2.4 GHz), 

                                 fo=nc/(2πr√εeff ) 

                       Where    r: the main radius of the ring element,  n: the mode number, 1,2,3,..., fo: the  frequency (2.4GHz),  ɛeff: the effective of dielectric constant, C: the speed of the light (3 x 10^8)

Inner ring : Ri=r-(w/2)       

Outer ring:  Ro=r+(w/2)

Coupling gap: delta(L)=0.412d(εreff +0.3)(w/d+0.264)/[(εreff −0.258)(w/d+0.8)]

where  w: width of feed-line for planar and d: your substrate thickness

I would like to differ as effective permittivity would eventually depend on SRR only that is why unit cell analysis is required.

i have a big problem in design any shape which resonates at any selected frequency for metamaterial, i used your video presentation on youtube as a guide for me but it is not working correctly .

for ex. when i want to design at 2.5 GHz on FR-4 substrate (Epsilon_r=4.3)

without using space in the square, and the width w=0.25 mm

lamda0=125 mm

epsilon_eff=2.65

lamdaguide=38.39 mm

l1=(L1+4*w)/4 = 9.847 mm

this calculations for 2.5 GHz but the simulation using cst is resonates at 4.4 Gz ??
