The line losses including electricity theft and non payment of dues are around 30%. Is it possible to lower the supply of electricity (more load shedding) more where non payment or theft is higher as compared to the areas where line losses are relatively less? I am looking for such a formula to do regional distribution of power management.
This approach does not seem very moral to me:
1) You are punishing the honest people on the subgrid for the theft and the non-payment of their neighbours.
2) The stealing of electricity and not paying bills will happen mostly in poor districts. Your idea will make the life of poor people even more miserable.
Thanks Jethro for your reply. But the present system punishes the people who pay bills because the tariff includes the unpaid part of the people too which makes no sense at all. In addition to that it seems that the people not paying the bills are influential politically and not necessarily poor ones. Once again i appreciate your answer and care for the poor.
