I'm working on the motivating mechanism of university teachers' professional development. I plan to figure out what factors are motivating teachers to develop themselves as a professional and how these factors interacting with each other. I assume internal factors are the determinant ones and external ones serve as the triggers. I try to establish a model to illustrate the intricate interactional relationship. In order to test my model, I need to measure university teachers' overall professional development. What might be the indicators? just based on the three dimensions:teaching, research, service or should go beyond? Put it simply, how to judge a university teacher's professional development outcome?
