I made a research on Google on my own but many data are missing. As the information about board members is related to corporate governance, I was wondering whether some databases offered such data. I would be very grateful if you had the answer :)

Hi! I think there is no database with a biography, but you can find a lot of information about Board of Directors in Thomson Reuters Datastream/Eikon and also in Orbis. But in Orbis data is only for the last 10 years, so I'd suggest Datastream/Eikon.

That would be a large database and subject to daily change. I would have thought it would be possible to scrape it from company websites or public databases such as EDGAR in the US. This would work best if you wish to focus on a subset of non-changing companies. Do you want just the names or the full narrative biography also? Also if you can provide a clue as to your research aims that may help in determining the best method to obtain this data.

Internet scrapping is what I thought of at the beginning. However, for some people , there is simply no information at all.
As our study is a cross-country study which aims to cover 25 countries, we should use a reliable database. In the meantime, I have identified Datastream / Refinitiv / Eikon.
However, I will keep Internet scrapping in mind.

I teach that there are three things in good research. The first is the independent variable or constructs(Well defined), the second is the dependent variable or construct and the third is the limitation. With research you slowly push back the barrier of knowledge one area at a time. So start with the obvious and that will open up the paths that the research will take you.
As one pushes the boundary of knowledge back one discovers more and refines the constructs as you realise your limitations you places originally on something.
You can scrape data from the internet for free using the latest versions of Microsoft Excel or PowerBI both of which are widely available across universities and businesses. It helps if you are on the latest version which is currently Microsoft365, although earlier versions will have at least some of this functionality.
In both tools you 'Get data', choose 'from Web' and paste in your URL (web page address). This will allow you to review the available tables on that URL page which you can then either Load 'as is' or Transform using Power Query's inbuilt functionality.
Once you have gone through the process of setting it up, Power Query is fairly good at maintaining the data using the refresh function without having to set it all up again. It is slightly technical so you may need to either enhance your own skills or partner with a tech-aware researcher.

Bloomberg might have some of these functionalities that you are looking for. First, the system has stock data of all listed companies in different exchanges in the world. These data will come with information of board members of the companies as well.
Thanks, Chung for this idea. I thought that Bloomberg was focused on financial data. We have it at school. So, I'm going to exploit this lead.
Actually, as Leana Esterhuyse points, my concern is the subscription fees. I have already identified the best database to get the board members' educational backgroung which is Boardex but I cannot afford it :( It's more than 30,000 EUR per year and per person and it's not possible to subscribe for only one month.
Samia Belaounia If you have at school, exploit its potential. There are a lot of information there you can use. Download the data, esp corporate data on shareholder information which is available on a world-wide basis in the bloomberg format. It wont cost you anything if the school has it.
