Storeatula major is an eukaryotic marine micro algal strain. For a research project, we are trying to find the suitable cryopreservation method of this strain.

You may apply the standard procedure that is already in use for cryopreservation of fish semen

10% DMSO or 15% Methanol can be used for the preservation but you have to give more importance to equilibration time. 30 minutes is enough to cryoprotectant to enter in to the cell. Then you have to freeze the cell using two step cryopreservation protocol.
