Is there any constitutive equations that can predict texture during FSW with less complexity?
It is known from a paper by Fonda and Knipling (Fonda RW, Knipling KE (2011) Texture development in friction stirwelding. Science and Tech of Weld and Join 16(4):288–294. doi:10.1179/1362171811Y.0000000010 ) that texturing in FSW occurs by plastic deformation (shear strain textures) and then as a result of recrystallization (recystallization textures) of those deformed grains. I don't understand how both could be predicted.

Exactly the way to understand the main grain refinement mechanism during FSW process is recrystallization or grain fragmentation as a result of applied shear during welding, by using crystal plasticity equations we can predict the main mechanism in each welding conditions(tool rotation speed and travel speed) by predictiong the texture. But it is very complex, I want to know whether there is any constitutive equations for texture prediction, hence we can predict the texture with less complexity.
