I need standard of enrichment and dimensions animal enclosure (with emphasis on carnivores) in zoo and safari park. Is there any clear standard tables, abstract file or clear metric? thanks
Hi Afsaneh, it can really depend on each species and where they are located. In the United States, the USDA has some national standards for the housing of different carnivores. But, in each state, there may be different wildlife agencies that have their own regulations for each species that enclosures have to satisfy such as dig barriers, height and style of fencing, fencing kickback required, electric hot wire, minimum area, etc...
