Although, soft and hard sciences disciplines classification is considered to be outdated, I could not find a new and/or clear classification of academic disciplines under these two broad fields.

One could however generalize and suggest the hard sciences are more mathematics centered while the soft sciences are more human behavior centered. The blurring occurs where an increasing amount of mathematics is applied to analyzing human behavior.

Yes, I have noticed this. Unfortunately, I have only encountered Biglan (1973) classification which is outdated.
I do agree Dr. Robert. However, it is still vague as nowadays several sub-discipline in social sciences do apply experimental research design.
