Hi I am wondering is there any chemical mixture non-biocompatible while the single chemical is totally safe, and cell compatible?
As an opposite example, we know that acid and base are totally toxic to cells while the mixture of them can be neutral and biocompatible. I am wondering if there is any cell toxic product, while the reactants of it are totally biocompatible? We prefer reactions in the aqueous solution. Thanks in advance for your idea!

Aha, thanks! we prefer some reactions in solution more, so that we can add the combo of reactants to kill the bacteria in liquid culture.
Free radical generation seems to be suitable. Some compounds (organic peroxides, azo-compounds, azides, etc) can generate high concentration of free radicals at moderate heating or photochemically.
