In this digital world, with increasing digital devices and data, security is a significant concern. And most cases DOS/DDoS/EDoS attacks are performed by the botnet. I want to do research to detect and prevent botnets. Can you share an efficient research title to detect and prevent botnets?
When I was working in cyber ops, we could detect Russian bot accounts based on their behaviour and similar Emails/IPs/Usernames. This data can be acquired by lost ao means like Leaked Data or some Web scraping. Often the accounts are stolen so it can be hard to detect stolen accounts. In this particular instance, we were monitoring social media sites like Twitter and Facebook(Comments).
Dos/DDoS services like Cloudflare, are using a lot of computing power to determine if any given Host is a Bot or Not.
Some of the methods they use are:
-Checking for suspicious requests
-reputation-based filtering
-Ai-based filtering
