Try this: Each specimen should be weighed immediately, before any drying or reabsorption of moisture has taken place. After weighing, the specimen is placed in an oven heated to 101°C to 105°C (214°F to 221°F) and kept there until no significant weight change occurs in 4-h weighing intervals. Use this formula to get the gravimetric water content expressed by mass (weight):
