Thank you for pointers to what must be wonderful resources, Behnam Farid. I can not, however, afford to buy such information and must limit my work to references freely available on the Web. And at my advanced age I am more concerned with divesting myself of books than with acquiring more of them.

What I really seek is an interactive, online resource of networked hotlinks patterned after the video that I referenced in my question.

On the other hand, I am sure that your answer will be of great help to those who can afford such investments for their personal research libraries,

Dear Stephen Arthur, you are welcome. You do not need to acquire the books I indicated; you can borrow them from a public library. In fact, many publishers, notably Springer Verlag, have license agreements with major libraries (in particular national libraries) throughout the world whereby registered users of these libraries can access digital versions of certain publications, including books, for free -- for personal use only of course. If you do some simple inquiries (at your local and national libraries), you will discover that there are many ways in which one can come by the literature one needs free of charge. The relevant charges are paid by the public, through the taxes they pay, so any citizen has all the right to use these libraries and the facilities they provide.

As for what you were looking for, please do some Internet search, and you are likely to find it. I just did a very cursory search, and found the attached website, administered by Institute of Physics, IOP.

For completeness, I attach the link to another book, entitled Interactive Quantum Mechanics, by Brandt et al. (Springer, New York, 2011).

That looks like a very good course!

I have already joined you in recommending Behnam Farid's kind guidance.

But when I asked my original question I had in mind something like charts that display how various quantum components are interrelated, with hotlinks that take one to other charts showing other relationships in the third dimension, drilling down into space behind the page. Not having seen such, and not having the expertise to develop one myself, I was hoping that somebody else could point me to such an encyclopedic approach to this highly complex topic. I was and am looking for a clearer, taxonomically networked, graphical approach that would lead to nuggets of definitions and critically related thoughts. I think that the field of Quantum Mechanics might benefit from some coordinated development of such a tool.

I was not able to express my original suggestion very well. I'm not sure I've done much better here. I think that maybe such an "animal" has not yet been created as I have in mind.

I thank you again for pointing me to what seems to be an encyclopedic compendium of information pertinent to my suggestion for an online tool that could be readily updated and freely available to all.

I am a complete novice in details related to Quantum Mechanics. I could never create what I am suggesting would help students of and workers in the subject area. But I could use such a tool, were it available.

Although no printed book would suffice, I thank you for suggesting several that could be gleaned in order to collate data to be ordered into the layers of hotlinks through which users could maneuver efficiently in order to flesh out most readily their comprehensions of each related topic within a visible context of matrixed data related to each.

If one were to respond: "But, Steve! That's what the Web *IS*!", I would respond that it is impossible for me, at least, to envision all the links that could better be charted than I can do for myself in any maintainable, written, outline form. The tool I suggest might best be created via AI directed and guided by experts in the field who might well learn things from each other that would advance the field, while building and maintaining and discussing the best ways to show the relationships among the nodes of the tool.

Of course, the military had the job done by 1950. ;-) What do *I* know?

Dear Stephen A. Langford : First, thank you for your kind words. Second, I believe Hyperlink [1] does what you suggest. It can be used in at least texts in pdf format. Insofar as I am aware, there is no software capable of adding hyperlinks to pdf files, but hyperlinks can certainly be added to texts in TEX format. Therefore, one theoretical possibility for hyperlinking a pdf file is to convert this file into one in TEX format, add the desired hyperlinks, and convert back the resulting TEX file into one in pdf format. The problem of doing this is that to my best knowledge the extant software do not convert pdf files reliably into TEX files -- they are most inaccurate in converting mathematical expressions (perhaps in not so distant a future AI will overcome this shortcoming). Therefore, the best thing that can happen right now is that publishers undertake to produce an additional version of at least a selection of their digital books, ones that are specially heavily hyperliked. This will undoubtedly increase the production cost, so naturally the question for these publishers is how many people are there who are prepared to pay the higher price for these heavil -hyperlinked books.

I appreciate your having provided a perspective and sense of direction that the project I have suggested might take. I confess that I really did not expect anybody simply to say: "Oh, HERE it is, Steve!". So you have been significantly instrumental in helping to "kick the ball" in the right direction. I hope that those with a greater vested interest in developing such a project than I have will consider doing the work necessary to bring it to fruition. :-)

There are other fields of interest that also might benefit from such an approach.
