According to my knowledge, natural capital is composed of all natural assets originated by nature and that are the heritage of the whole society. Therefore, if used
consciously and adequately natural capital is a great way to maximize and accelerate the economic growth of any company.
Natural capital is the junction of renewable or non-renewable natural resources with the natural services. Natural services are measures that help to improve the environment and therefore the sustainability of organizations that adopt these policies.
Working towards sustainability is necessary to understand the importance of natural capital and the benefits it provides, recognize that the activities of the 'man' degrade the environment and consume renewable resources on a smaller scale than nature can renew them.
Given the growing environmental degradation, organizations, along with their managers pressured by a market requirement, found themselves forced to adopt environmental and social measures in order to remain competitive in the market, as the company has started charging of companies measures to safeguard the natural capital. The concerned organizations have adopted strategic measures with a view to reduce their environmental impacts and improve their image with its employees, suppliers and customers. From this emerged the Social Report.
Perhaps from a resilience approach? The ecology of the business extends to its physical environment not just the direct market it serves...consider the work of Gretchen Daily
Sustainability demands that a company must be equally concerned about economic, social and environmental considerations. Prudent use of natural capital like renewable energies will certainly drive the company towards sustainability, provided the company is able to built up a symbiotic relationship among man, machine and environment. Corporate Social Responsibility ( CSR ) that promotes judicious use of natural capital could be a measure of sustainability.
