Can you just try e.g. ATLAS.ti software for handling qualitative data? And then follow the general procedures of coding, data queries. I love co-occurrence tables :)

I don't know if this would be of any help, but I found using Nvivo -a qualitative software useful to explore my quantitative and qualitative data. The software is very useful in many ways and from my experience it was in managing large amount of qualitative data. Once, I had all my qualitative data on i, it was easier to manage and I was able to organise my coding better. Also, it allowed me import my quantitive data from SPSS and then explore patterns between quantitive and qualitative data. However, you cannot perfom statistics with the software, at best you can get frequencies and another beauty is that charts and other pictorial illustrations can be done. Another challenge was that I had to in-put my data manually from my questionnaire. You can import data directly from various sources e.g internet, audio recordings (at least the last time I checked), but sometimes data from other sources would have to be formatted for it to be compartible. Like I said and presumably like a lot of packages out there the software does a lot.  

I am certain there would be a number of ways you could approach your data analysis. I suppose it all comes down to taking an approach and presenting it logically in your report (justifying your choice, including what is accesible to you and that it helps to achieve the aims of your researc).

NVivo is great for this, as stated by Nusirat Bello.

I am using MAXQDA for my own work. As it has a demo version, you can use it for a limited number of interviews and limited time. However, I should say that it is not a simple method, as what you are looking for. It rather gives you authority over your data by enabling you to visualize, move and add data. The basic principles of a qualitative data analysis, creating codes categories, coding your data and retrieving codded segments from your data are more easier than doing it manually, for example.   

How many interviews?  Is a number than Nvivo, which I use works well.  If just a couple, sometimes I just do a quick and dirty to start:  cutting and pasting the responses of each interviewee below each question to get a sense of things.  Helps to figure out coding, or in some cases can just do from there.

I agree that NVivo is ideal for this. It is, after all, at heart a content management system. You can include data from pretty much any source.

You should probably consider whether you wish to treat the responses as reflections of people's experience or as indicators of how they talk about their experience.  The two perspectives require different sorts of analysis. 

Using NVivo you can set up the project with people nodes, use styles in the interview transcripts and when importing the transcripts into NVivo have them automatically coded to the people, and to the individual questions.  This provides all the responses for Q1 Subtopic 1 in the same node and makes review and coding of the data easier.  This video provides a good explanation on how to set up the transcript.

with regards to your other concern of integrating the qual and the quant results, once it is a mixed methods approach, your qual is providing context specific explanations to the figures in the quant.

so for any observation in the quant, you draw on the qual for possible explanations 

I am using a sequential quantitative qualitative explanatory research design for my dissertation.  This is based on:

They describe a methodology of participant selection using standard error of the mean coupled with a maximal variation sampling strategy.

If you doing interviews, you need to either have software that handles multimedia files or need to transcribe them into text. Be sure that QDA software handles your modality. Some options are free, some are not but all simulate processes that are analogue in a digital format - which allows the application of statistical tools.

HOWEVER, none of this will help you if you don't have a structure for your analysis or an idea of what you are looking for. That is why the suggestion above about hermeneutic approaches matters (David Glyn Roberts). If in doubt, you can look at Grounded Theory, that lets you start to build theories from what is found. So the question becomes what are you looking for, and how might that information correlate with quantitative data. How does your design method (which are notoriously ambiguous to start with) allow you to start to structure your qualitative data? This might mean tagging anything that addresses spatial qualities, emotional effects, value statements, etc and then, once tagged, sub-categorized based on tighter nuances. The biggest issue with data is that it can tell you anything if you don't have a relevant structure - garbage in, garbage out.

Also, the LIWC (http://www.liwc.net/) has a few standardized dictionaries that make it a little more user friendly, but again you need to narrow down what you are looking for and realize that any scoring word count software might miss something important, so consider an old school thematic analysis first. In other words, you can do a simple hand count of various themes within the interview and then compare your themes with one or more other raters. Good old fashioned paper and pencil. Good luck!

NVivo may be the best software to organise and analyse your data. If your data from the structured interviews is already in text form then creating themes will be much easier and NVivo will allow you to analyse the data using the recurrent patterns emerging from the themes created. There is room using this software to identify other interesting patterns which you may not have expected to emerge from your data. Because your interviews were structured it will be easy to import data from your interviews into sources folder assuming you used one method. You can also capture memos in NVivo and that will assist you in interpreting the data during analysis.

I agree with Phillip that all the major qualitative software packages will help you organize your data into a spreadsheet format that can be imported into SPSS.

In particular, you might take a look at Dedoose, which is an online program where you rent access on a monthly basis. Although it is a general qualitative analysis package, much of its early development was devoted to this kind of work, and the sample dataset that it uses should be useful as an example. (I believe MAX may also have a sample data set that is specifically developed for this kind of work.)

In terms of the kind of analysis that you want to do, are you planning on counting the codes that you apply to the data? If so, then you should think of this as a rather quantitatively oriented version of content analysis (what people in mixed methods refer to as "quantizing" qualitative data). The alternatives such as grounded theory or hermeneutic approaches would typically be much more interpretive and would not accepting counting as part of their method.
