Is there a religious or cultural significance attached to a first born female child birthed on Ramadan? Does it make a difference whether the parents or Shiite or Sunni? What religious or cultural considerations need to be observed by nurses during and after the birth?

Religiously there's no significance.
Regarding Sunni and Shia, there are other groups of Muslims to consider.
Nurses would need to be aware of a mother's modesty (as much as medically is possible), and that she may pray right up until giving birth. After the birth the call to prayer is said into the baby's ear usually by the father and some date is rubbed onto the baby's gums.
