I'm looking for a typology of reed land. In my work on wetlands in Ukraine we find very diverse reed lands, with huge differences also in area extent, reed phenology and biomass production.

Of course, there are 'wetland typologies', describing fens, (transition) mires, bogs, blanket bogs et cetera, of which some are dominated by Phragmites. The Water Framework Directive describes different surface water bodies. However, searching for papers on reed land or reed typologies, I can't find any. Is the reed land type merely connected to the hydrological state of the area where they grow (i.e. flooded or not, connected to surface water or not)?

Does anyone have a useful typology?
