I am interested in contacting colleagues who have recently done investigations on the use of products used for skin bleaching, lightening and whitening in Africa. What is its prevalence in various countries? What social and psychologic factors do influence their use? Who has recently done an investigation and used a (standardized) questionnaire?

The following journal will help explain some of the psycho-social motives for physical alteration although not skin bleaching specifically. Be sure to view the "altered questionnaire", in appendix 1 of the following journal:
