Lets say that a signal has a bandwidth B, thus the sampling frequency should be Fs>=2*B, but we only have the spectrum of this signal which has been sampled with M-times lower sampling frequency, Fe=Fs/M. Can one recover the original spectrum in the interval (-Fs/2,Fs/2)? Normally it is not possible, but if there is an additional assumption that most of the signal energy lies in the sub-band M-times narrower than the full bandwidth - maybe there is some statistical method? What do you think? What do you suggest to read?
