Is there a material or method (not liquid) in which particles can move laterally?

I want to make the material from the dust particles adsorbed on one side to pass through the inside of the material and transport it laterally to the other side under non gravity. This process needs to be completed in non liquid or liquid crystal state. Can you tell me who has done similar research?
