For those working on Urban and Landscape Planning I would like to know which are in your perspective the factors affecting public preference regarding public urban parks?
There are many factors affecting public preferences on urban parks. Geographic location is one of these factors. I have once studied the similar topic, but my focus is on how different degree of naturalness and human intrusion have impact on public selection of urban forests for their outdoor activities. If you are interested, you may have a look at the attached document, which is also available from Research Gate. Thanks.
Yes, I would say from a geographical perspective, one important consideration is space-time accessibility. Which moderates the degree of spatial equity in the distribution and supply of public infrastructure.

I am not a specialist. But according to my personal experience, there are various number of parks. The proximity park, just for a stroll in the evening. Napoleon III developed such parks at the en of the XIX th century in Paris. Then larger parks with good access one in a neighbourhood (see London) for a day time use. And finally, almost wild nature, at the periphery of the cities to experiment "bak to the nature" life (see san Francisco and abidjan). Concentration and territorial equity don't exclude each other. The Tiebout model enable to ensure that local preferences are in accordance with provision of BPL.
1. The needs of society, which lives in the city (the city also can be divided into districts where residents will have different needs). The needs of the activity will affect the size and type of vegetation and recreational items
Note - the level of affluence of people in different cities / districts affected very strongly on the type of green areas.
2. Determinants of land (swamping, natural lakes, ponds) - this will affect the type of vegetation
This your question gives a good topic to investigate. We have little research that can answer this kind of question. Of course, each park has specific types of social groups. Even if this is evident, never seen any work that deals with the subject. And I think it's worth doing a scientific investigation in this regard.
There is a hierarchy of public parks that goes from small (found just about everywhere) to large (with very few examples). Most of the benefits of the small parks are captured in the values of the most proximate properties. This may not be true for the largest regional parks. First, consider the smallest parks: roads are often built on rights-of-way that are, for example, 66 feet wide, where only half of that is used for the road itself. The rest is parkland. It may contain sidewalks, grass, and trees. It conveys some value to the properties it serves. You could measure this using hedonic analysis because there is variation in the quantity and quality of this parkland. Next, there are neighborhood parks. Proximity is important. But do not be surprised if, in some cases, being "on" the park (meaning having contiguous property with the park) may have some negative features. And so on, you can go to larger and larger scales.
