I am planning a review of psycho-social interventions in global mental health. I am going to include, things such as evidence-based, indigenized, theory-based, background of the person who developed it, and whether it is available in public arena ornot. But if there is a criteria, it will be great.

Hi Farooq: There is a very good monograph by Institute of Medicine on the topic that we do not have a body similar to FDA to approve psychosocial interventions. I think you will find material relevant to your topic there.

Thank you Yvonne. Only a limited number of resources are available in Low and Middle Income Countries for dealing with Trauma. I am aware of a low intensity manual by the WHO, Problem Management plus. But its not culturally sensitive. It claims to help people with distress but it as it does not address the trauma. So, not sure what exactly it is. We developed and culturally adapted a CBT based self help and Guided self help manual for PTSD in Pakistan, but it is only in Urdu. I am sorry that I am not of much help. Regards
No this is quite helpful. It helps me to understand how to conceptualize my approach to considering trauma intervention globally.
I am a novice at researcher who loves investigation and conceptualization. I do know that feed back from different countries is important in this effort in designing and completing it.
I would like for you to be involved on a brain storming team as I attempt to investigate this. It may be the subject of an independent study in the Spring 2016 or PhD project in the Fall of 2017. May I enlist you in this effort?
I will be very happy to join. I think there is a major issue in that interventions in global mental health in that these are mostly developed by people from public health background with no or minimum understanding of the clinical and cultural issues. Anyway, please let me do what I can do to help.
